Summer break!

So long, the days since I last posted on this blog.

As I write now reflecting on the spring term, I am pleased to report it a huge success.

Our newly formed Hemispheric Dialogues research cluster continues to evolve into a dynamic and much need intellectual community.  The cluster hosted Professor Juan Flores who gave a public address and held a seminar meeting with the cluster.  Aside from his visit Women’s Studies hosted Bettina Aptheker, who inagurated the Master Class series, presenting on Feminisms and Social Justice to an audience of more then 300 students– a huge success in all regards.  Both my classes went smoothly leaving students excited about the course material and their learning.  Most importantly, my experimental course focused on Feminisms and the African American Diaspora went extremely well.  We look forward to producing a site on Second Life representing the Underground Railroad.  Thanks to all the students for the hard work and enthusiasm.  Enjoy your summer.. I’m off now for a sabbatical leave that will give me the time to complete my book project.
